97.64% of the world’s population believes in a god figure according to the CIA World “Fact”book….Although the same “Fact”book states that China (population=17% of the world’s population) has 96%-97% atheists. Well…it IS the CIA “Fact”book we’re talking about here and well, we all know how reliable and unbiased their information is.
So, even if we were to account for China, that leaves us with more than 81% of the world’s population living in a child-like state of mind and believing in some form of supernatural being that lives in the stratosphere, watching their every move.
Some people believe in an almighty being that created this planet in 6 days and on the seventh day, this almighty, all-knowing, all-powerful being…had a nap. By the looks of how things on this planet are, I’d say he hasn’t woken up since.
The majority of the people on this planet believe in a conscience state of being after death, which leaves some of them dangerously susceptible to influence in their behaviour in daily -real- life. Crusaders, suicide bombers, people that want to convert you to their religion to “save” your “soul”, the guy that puts that Bible in your hotel room. All these people draw their actions in the conviction that what they do will be rewarded when they’re buried or burned, depending on their personal preference.
I refused to believe that there were still that many gullable people on this planet until I read a report about Sony being forced to pull an advert because the person on it had resemblances to what some Catholics’ perceive to be the image of “Jesus” - A carpenter that died some 2000 years ago, and to a third of the suckers on this planet, is the object of worship. I guess for some people “freedom of expression” depends on what you’re expressing and who’s expressing it.

“By the looks of how things on this planet are, I’d say he hasn’t woken up since.”
Heh!
…
I wasn’t gonna comment but what the hell….
What really gets me about believers is how they can be part of something that teaches vindictiveness and at the same time think they have any sort of ethical reasoning.
…
apparently these people havent seen the hitchhikers guide to the universe
but I should shut up. Im an agnostic
…
funny how the first post states that “HE” has not woke up. If your agnostic how do you suppose it is a he?
The tenets of most faiths are flawed but still the same people have faith. It could be said that faith has established the laws buy which we live on a day to day basis. “go-figure?”
Yet we seem happy to abide by them. Good and bad in everything. It is just the existence we have been born into.

Dear wilko,
First of all, the “he” comment, well, that’s called “sarcasm” and “it” would not have been as funny.
And second, I do not believe in gods, nor do I need one to dictate to me how -and by what rules- to live my life.
If you DO need one, fine, but don’t be surprised when you’re being made fun of at some point in your life when you come across someone with a working brain.
