I can’t believe the amount of bullshit there is on the web about Fahrenheit 9/11. There are entire websites and right wing webrings dedicated to debunk F911 and the 9/11 Commission Report. Who are these nutheads and from what ranch did they escape from? Some of them openly admit not having seen the movie and claim the movie is all lies all in one breath.
Anyway, I’ll be checking out the movie either tomorrow when it opens here in Germany or on the weekend…Can’t wait to see !
Oh, and the first black president: Barack Obama fo’shizzle…i heard the man talk on TV here during the democratic convention…damn!! I must say was mightly impressed and even saw some people in the convention center crying. The man’s got a bright future in front of him. I stayed up the whole night watching the dem com coverage on MSNBC and I must say the dems have it easy this time around if at least 51% of those voters that are in possession of a brain vote. Only fools, the war loving right wing extremists, and religious nuts will vote republican this time around and by the pure logical deduction of survival of the fittest, those groups are slowly joining the Dodo and the Tasmanian Tiger. I really liked the message and their style of campaigning. Hesitant to even mention their opponent but sometime almost referring to him in reference of a character in America’s dark past and the main message being that it’s time to move on. A positive message of hope instead of one inciting fear in some and anger in others.
Oh, and I think Hillary Clinton may be in for a surprise if she decided to run in 2008…watch out, here come Theresa Heinz! At first i was pretty sceptic about her, but Theresa Heinz is actually quite likable…and she speaks one language more the I do!
As I watched her walk, something funny occurred to me…I have no clue what Bush’s wife is called! Does anyone know, really?
Well, i’m off to watch some more…
I did some cosmetic surgery on the site and managed to cut down the size of the CSS from 21K to 17K to 12K.
Mostly I did this by removing classes I didn’t use and more importantly by avoiding to use declarations like “font-family”, “font-size”, “margin-left”, “margin-right”, “padding-left”, “padding-right”, “background-color”, “background-image” etc, as much as I could.
Background
For example by changing the following:
background-image: url(bodybg.gif);
background-attachment:fixed;
background-color: #B53500;to:
background: #B53500 url(bodybg.gif) fixed;
Margins and Paddings
The same thing can be done with margins and padding indicators:
padding-top: 10px;
padding-right: 0;
padding-bottom: 20px;
padding-left: 20px;can be written like this:
padding: 10px 0 20px 20px;
Keeping in mind that the order start from the top in a clockwise direction:
TOP - RIGHT - BOTTOM - LEFT
Fonts
Fonts can be simplified as well:
font-weight: bold;
font-style: italic;
font-size: 12px;
font-family: times, sans-serif; Can be simplified to:
font:bold italic 12px times, sans-serif;
Unnecessary Spaces
Another good size reducing trick is, instead of using multiple spaces to indent your code lines, just use tabs.
table
??{
????border-collapse: collapse;
??}
Using tabs reduces the number of characters need for indenting, from 8 to 3 in this case. This may not sound much at first but as your project gets bigger and so with it your
CSS files, the difference will be dramatically quite notable.
Man, Bruce sure is some kinda pervert. I’ve noticed it many many time when listening to this song “Secret Garden”. Don’t believe me?
I’ll let the lyrics speak for themselves! just read.
She’ll let you in her house
If you come knockin’ late at night
She’ll let you in her mouth
If the words you say are right
If you pay the price
She’ll let you deep inside
But there’s a secret garden she hides
She’ll let you in her car
To go drivin’ round
She’ll let you into the parts of herself
That’ll bring you down
She’ll let you in her heart
If you got a hammer and a vice
But into her secret garden, don’t think twice
You’ve gone a million miles
How far’d you get
To that place where you can’t remember
And you can’t forget
She’ll lead you down a path
There’ll be tenderness in the air
She’ll let you come just far enough
So you know she’s really there
She’ll look at you and smile
And her eyes will say
She’s got a secret garden
Where everything you want
Where everything you need
Will always stay
A million miles away
