Immortal Technique - The 4th Branch
[Talking]
The new age is upon us
And yet the past refuses to rest in its shallow grave
For those who hide behind the false image of the son of man
shall stand before God!!! It has begun
The beginning of the end
Yeah..
Yeah… yeah, yeah
[Verse 1]
The voice of racism preaching the gospel is devilish
A fake church called the prophet Muhammad a terrorist
Forgetting God is not a religion, but a spiritual bond
And Jesus is the most quoted prophet in the Qu’ran
They bombed innocent people, tryin’ to murder Saddam
When you gave him those chemical weapons to go to war with Iran
This is the information that they hold back from Peter Jennings
Cause Condoleeza Rice is just a new age Sally Hemmings
I break it down with critical language and spiritual anguish
The Judas I hang with, the guilt of betraying Christ
You murdered and stole his religion, and painting him white
Translated in psychologically tainted philosophy
Conservative political right wing, ideology
Glued together sloppily, the blasphemy of a nation
Got my back to the wall, cause I’m facin’ assassination
Guantanamo Bay, federal incarceration
How could this be, the land of the free, home of the brave?
Indigenous holocaust, and the home of the slaves
Corporate America, dancin’ offbeat to the rhythm
You really think this country, never sponsored terrorism?
Human rights violations, we continue the saga
El Savador and the contras in Nicaragua
And on top of that, you still wanna take me to prison
Just cause I won’t trade humanity for patriotism
[Hook]
It’s like MK-ULTRA, controlling your brain
Suggestive thinking, causing your perspective to change
They wanna rearrange the whole point of view of the ghetto
The fourth branch of the government, want us to settle
A bandana full of glittering, generality
Fighting for freedom and fighting terror, but what’s reality?
Read about the history of the place that we live in
And stop letting corporate news tell lies to your children
[Verse 2]
Flow like the blood of Abraham through the Jews and the Arabs
Broken apart like a woman’s heart, abused in a marriage
The brink of holy war, bottled up, like a miscarriage
Embedded correspondents don’t tell the source of the tension
And they refuse to even mention, European intervention
Or the massacres in Jenin, the innocent screams
U.S. manufactured missles, and M-16’s
Weapon contracts and corrupted American dreams
Media censorship, blocking out the video screens
A continent of oil kingdoms, bought for a bargain
Democracy is just a word, when the people are starvin’
The average citizen, made to be, blind to the reason
A desert full of genocide, where the bodies are freezin’
And the world doesn’t believe that you fightin’ for freedom
Cause you fucked the Middle East, and gave birth to a demon
It’s open season with the CIA, bugging my crib
Trapped in a ghetto region like a Palestinian kid
Where nobody gives a fuck whether you die or you live
I’m tryin’ to give the truth, and I know the price is my life
But when I’m gone they’ll sing a song about Immortal Technique
Who beheaded the President, and the princes and sheiks
You don’t give a fuck about us, I can see through your facade
Like a fallen angel standing in the presence of God
Bitch niggaz scared of the truth, when it looks at you hard
[Hook]
It’s like MK-ULTRA, controlling your brain
Suggestive thinking, causing your perspective to change
They wanna rearrange the whole point of view in the ghetto
The fourth branch of the government, want us to settle
A bandana full of glittering, generality
Fighting for freedom and fighting terror, but what’s reality?
Martial law is coming soon to the hood, to kill you
While you hanging your flag out your project window
[Talking]
Yeah..
The fourth branch of the government AKA the media
Seems to now have a retirement plan for ex-military officials
As if their opinion was at all unbiased
A machine shouldn’t speak for men
So shut the fuck up you mindless drone!
And you know it’s serious
When these same media outfits are spending millions of dollars on a PR campaign
To try to convince you they’re fair and balanced
When they’re some of the most ignorant, and racist people
Giving that type of mentality a safe haven
We act like we share in the spoils of war that they do
We die in wars, we don’t get the contracts to make money off ‘em afterwards!
We don’t get weapons contracts, nigga!
We don’t get cheap labor for our companies, nigga!
We are cheap labor, nigga!
Turn off the news and read, nigga!
Read… read… read…

The Freedom to Buy More Things: What Else Is There?
I wonder what would happen if the U.S. actually pulled each of its fingers out of foreign lands. Try to connect the dots, find all of the connections between what you, as an individual own, and the all of the behind the scenes work that made those things available. Then go even bigger, and try to make all the foreign connections in politics, try to find out how many CIA, how many individuals do not exist, what really goes on to keep us protected from the many who find the U.S less than desirable. How long have we been running our country, our politics, our business in this way? What if this is our foundation? What if it always has been? What happens when/if we pull that foundation out? Whenever we move in one direction, we simultaneously move in all others, seen and unseen. As of now, the arguments that I have seen against Bush, against the war, and against “corporate America” (with the exception of Klein’s No Logo) are far from convincing. It seems that sites like these are merely “preaching to the choir,” throwing out the loaded words and the propaganda tactics that the very site should abhor. The information and opinions here speak to those who already have them; and to those who do not, they may engage one’s interest at very best. Until people start discussing these issues and pointing to the possible roots to them, rather than “throwing rocks” from what Patricia Roberts-Miller calls enclaves, these very important topics, with the values and belief systems beneath them, will dissipate into nothing more than the steam from boiling water. Allowing the U.S to continue giving the majority what we really want, protection, revenge and the freedom to buy more things. What else is there, really?

little answer…
First let me start by saying that I consider most of what you wrote to be a waste of database storage.
I could’ve just deleted your ignorant, close minded, one dimensional, overbloted comment, but i had too much of a good time laughing at it to just let it go.
Here you seem to imply that the US is the sole industrialized nation in the world and all else is dependent on it and that I should -for some reason- feel in debt to its holy existence and awe at its magnificence. That’s some deep core patriotic shit some parents teach their kids…just like NAZI tought their kids. Well done! If you hadn’t noticed by now, you’ve become what you used to hate.
I suggest you do some studying (in a school, not a church) and learn some history and don’t come back until you’re at least 16.
Your literary ability is equivalent to a pile of manure on a sunny day. You can spray all the perfume you want, it’s still shit, so don’t even try. I doubt you people even have the mental capacity to even grasp the cases you speak of, case being that you’re fueled by mind numbing FOX “NEWS” and bred on junkfood most of your “life”.
This site you speak of, is my BLOG, and unlike your corporate rum commercial media, I can write whatever the fuck I please here. The opinions expressed here are mine and of those of like-minded individuals, and if you don’t like them, well, guess what? I don’t give a shit! No one is holding your hand making you stick around. Your browser is equipped with multiple exit possibilities, including a back-button and a close-window-button; Use them, you judgmental and seemingly impeccable beeing from afar.
This coming from a person that finished reading “Voices in the Wilderness”, came here looking for “Mosh Eminem” and spent 40 minutes writing an essay about nothing as a comment on an Immortal Technique lyric. Read some more books. Oh, and what you call a “belief systems” is mearly a mockery of a religion that does nothing more than push conservative political agendas.
You know, it was until I read this part that I knew for sure you were just another zombie.
“He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, scince for him the spinal cord would fully suffice. This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, senseless brutality, deplorable love-of-country stance, how violently I hate all this, how despiceable an ignoreable war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part of so base an action! It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder.”
The man who wrote that was talking about NAZIs in the 40’s but it seems as though the quote is equally fitting to a more contemporary group of people who believe patriotism, war and the belief of their own superiority is paramount to all else.
It took Germany decades to learn from their mistakes…i’m sure the US, one day, will do the same.

It upsets me that I offended you to the point of slandering my character and knowledge based off of a few web-site’s I have browsed (somehow assuming a religious stance). And, I also think that you have altogether missed my point. Perhaps, I didn’t communicate it clearly. What I think you’re doing with this site, I take very seriously, or trust me..I wouldn’t have taken the time to write anything. What I posted not only helped me mold some thoughts that have been floating around from my research, but it was also a call for something. For someone to really articulate not only what we are fighting against, but rather what we are fighting for. I’m very sorry that you missed the irony of the final question, because that is what I thought there was to respond to. But, yet again, all I heard was anger and slander about my particular person–education, religion, literary ability ect… This only proves the point I was trying to get across in my post. What I meant to say is that we are not “communicating.” To me the ideas and opinions that I’ve seen so far on this site are extremely valid (particularly at this point in history) and it’s not, as you said, that “I don’t like them,” it’s just that I think they and others like them need to leave these places and make it out in terms that the “other” (or what you would call mindless CNN zombies) will listen to and maybe understand to the point of being convinced. I see absolutely no good coming from labeling someone as “stupid” and calling it at that. For one, it gets nothing accomplished because the only people you end up talking to are the people who already believe what you do. And secondly, it’s an extremely offensive way to start a conversation. (I should know from your last attack). People will not listen to you. And it is a waste of time. All I’m saying is things need to change and one way to start that is to look at how effectively we have been using our language–our rhetoric in making those changes. Sheesh.
